ADstruc : A Startup for ‘Mad Men’SFGate Apr 18, 2012 Back to press
John Laramie is only 26 years old and taking on an industry — the outdoor advertising industry. ADstruc is a company that’s helping to streamline outdoor advertising. Based in New York City, ADstruc takes on the ways of the old “Mad Men” through user friendly tools used to scout and price billboards and other outdoor advertising across the nation to best reach their customers. ADstruc offers an alternative to going through the old “Mad Men” business with expensive advertising agencies.
Laramie shares with us that he “thinks a lot about how we can educate the buyers about the process, how it works.” He has also scouted out the billboards for you. When he started his company, he used to bike around from billboard to billboard and write down the numbers to call. The old way sounds exhausting to me!
A process that often takes weeks: to find the right billboard, location, price range for your company, can now be done in a matter of minutes without having to leave the office or pick up a phone. Local companies are also users of ADstruc: “It is fun to get local businesses involved that typically have shied away from outdoor advertising.”
