Vocera Communications Inc. expects its initial public offering of 5 million common shares to price between $12 and $14 each.
The provider of voice-controlled patient communications products for the health-care industry filed plans for an estimated IPO of up to $80 million in August, in part to repay a credit facility from Comerica. Vocera also may use the proceeds to make acquisitions.
The San Jose company has seen its revenue growing annually, reaching $56.8 million last year. However, it has a history of losses and an accumulated deficit of $55.7 million as of June 30.
Venrock holds a 17.3% stake, while Vanguard Ventures owns 15.6%, RRE Ventures has 13.4%, GGV Capital controls 9.8% and Thomas Weisel Venture Partners holds 6.2%. Other investors have included Avalon Ventures, Motorola Ventures and Vanguard Venture Partners, according to VentureWire records.
Vocera has applied to list its common stock on the New York Stock Market under the symbol VCRA.
